Galicia Health Emergency-061 helped 57 people over the weekend due to 40 traffic accidents that occurred on the roads of Galicia. The period counted includes from 3:00 pm on Friday, October 20, to 11:59 pm on Sunday, October 22. Saturday was the day with the most accidents, with 16 accidents in traffic.
The 061 Coordination Center, which manages and coordinates pre-hospital services in urgent and emergency cases in Galicia, received 66 calls these days regarding traffic accidents. These alerts generated 40 medical assistance to 061 personnel who treated a total of 57 people. The proportion of male and female participants was 50% and 50% respectively. Regarding the ages of the injured, it was observed that 34.5% of those treated were between 30 and 44 years old.
According to the province, A Coruña recorded the most accidents with 20 traffic accidents during the trips on these dates.

The health resources mobilized by the doctors who responded to the calls of the 061 Coordination Center are 57. Therefore, the advanced life support ambulances assisted in eight accidents, the medical helicopter was mobilized on one occasion, the life support ambulances basic assistance in 46 accidents and the Primary Care health teams that complete the provision of basic life support ambulances in 061, if necessary, provide health care in two accidents.
In 48 cases, the injured were taken to the corresponding health centers, in eight times they were treated at the scene and one person died on the spot.
