The 2024 work calendar collected a total of 12 holidays national, where 9 will be held jointly throughout Spain, the same number this year, according to the resolution of the General Directorate of Labor published this Friday in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
In particular, in 2024 there will be holidays throughout Spain on Monday, January 1 (New Year), Saturday, January 6 (Epiphany of the Lord), Friday, March 29 (Good Friday), Wednesday, May 1 (Work Holiday), on Thursday, August 15 (Assumption of the Virgin), on Saturday, October 12 (Spanish National Holiday), on Friday, November 1 (All Saints), on Friday, December 6 (Spanish Constitution Day) and on Wednesday, December 25 ( Birth of the Lord).
There are other common holidays that autonomous communities can be moved to another day. It happened on Thursday, March 28 (Holy Thursday), which will be a holiday in all of Spain except the Valencian Community and Catalonia, but not on Friday, January 6, Three Kings, which all communities decided to continue.
Among the faculties recognized by the autonomous communities is also the possibility to replace the rest of the Monday after the national holidaysbyh the Sunday to include others that are traditional for them, as well as the option of celebrating San José ( March 19 or Santiago Apóstol (July 25) in its corresponding territory.
Therefore, December 9 (the Monday after the Immaculate Conception) will be a holiday in Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, Castilla y León, Extremadura, Murcia and Melilla; Thursday, July 25 (Santiago Apóstol) will be a holiday only in Cantabria, Galicia, Madrid, Navarra and the Basque Country, and Tuesday, March 19 (San José) will be a holiday only in Murcia and the Valencian Community.

The list of nine celebrations common throughout Spain in 2024 is as follows:
- January 1st: New Year (Monday)

The celebration of many holidays on Monday or Friday, therefore close to Saturday and Sunday, will allow next year to have a longer weekend than usual in Spain as a whole. This is the case on Monday, January 1, Friday, November 1 and Friday, December 6.

In the case of the Valencian Community, the recoverable paid holiday is set for Monday, June 24 (Saint John), while Catalonia must choose between January 6, April 1, June 2,4 and June 26. December (Saint Stephen).
