125 new millionaires and a record create lottery history in California

The biggest lottery prize in history was one of the tickets sold in California this year.

At least 125 Californians ended 2022 as millionaires thanks to California Lottery tickets. The unit described this year as “one of the most important” in its history.

In early November, a $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot was sold in Los Angeles County. According to the California Lottery, “That was a world record-breaking jackpot.”

The ticket was sold at a Joe service center located in Altadena, California. The jackpot reached $2.040 million and the winning numbers were 10, 33, 41, 47 and 56, and the Powerball was 10.

In addition, a $1,000,000 check was received by store owner Joe Chahayed, who sold the winning ticket.

But this was not the only prize. He was in fact one of the 125 winners of Crorepati Amount:

In January, a person in Sacramento won $316.3 million with Powerball, a person in Moreno Valley won $13 million with SuperLotto Plus and a person in Woodland Hills won $426 million with MegaMillions.

In April, a person in San Diego won $38 million with SuperLotto Plus, and in June a person in Oxnard won $27 million from the same lottery.

In October, a San Jose resident won $251 million with Mega Millions, and finally, in November, a $41 million winner bought his SuperLotto Plus ticket in Sacramento.

The Scratchers or Raspaditos also had an unforgettable year. In Los Angeles County, a woman claimed she bought a 200X ticket by mistake at a Vons supermarket in La Tarzana. LaQuedra Edwards said a man pushed her and it caused her to press a button she didn’t intend to. Unknowingly, he turns out to be the $10 million winning ticket.

For his part, Jose Martinez chose the cross word scratch-off simply because it was the same color as his wife’s cancer awareness bracelet. That ticket led him to win $2 million.

However, the year is not over. This December 30th, Mega Millions will be raffled with a pooled amount of $685 million. So it’s possible that another California resident could make 2022 a millionaire.
