CaixaBank and ENISA join forces to reward Extremaduran innovation in EmprendeXXI

The Government of Extremadura collaborates with CaixaBank, through DayOne, its division specializing in technology companies and their investors, together with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Tourism, through ENISA, in the call for the 17th Edition EmprendeXXI Awards, benchmark awards in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Technology-based companies based in Spain or Portugal that have been in business for less than three years are eligible for these awards.

The call is now open, and you can submit your applications until December 12 on the website www.emprendedorxxi.es. As in previous editions, a regional awards category was created aimed at technology-based and innovative companies from any activity sector, with a cash prize of 6,000 euros. In addition, companies from any territory that offer the best solutions to some of the main challenges posed by today’s society will be awarded.

The winners of this category will receive a prize of 12,000 euros each. In particular, in this edition, six challenges are defined, and each of them includes two challenges: the planet of tomorrow, which seeks solutions for planetary conservation and sustainable agriculture; the well-being of tomorrow, focused on medical technologies and well-being of the elderly; and the talent of tomorrow, which promotes the development and management of human talent in the digital age.

The remaining challenges are the cities of tomorrow, which value ideas for sustainable cities, new housing, and mobility; the economy of tomorrow, focused on technological change in the financial field and digitalization of business; and the joy of tomorrow, promoting innovations in the hotel and restaurant sector. The EmprendeXXI Awards will also include two special runner-up prizes: the Sustainability Award, for the most sustainable company based on ESG criteria, and the DeepTech Award, for the most disruptive technological innovation.

Each of these second prizes is awarded 9,000 euros. The winners of the EmprendeXXI Awards, in addition to receiving financial remuneration, will have access to the special training program ‘Moonshot Thinking for Entrepreneurs’, taught by ESADE in a leading global innovation hub. These companies will also participate in the EmprendeXXI Investors Day, connecting investors and collaborators in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. In addition, they will be integrated into the AlumniXXI community, a space for exchange and synergy between historical winners and the world of entrepreneurship and innovation.
