Australia. A young Australian girl who had “plans to travel the world” has died “tragically and suddenly” in front of her parents during a family dinner.
Dani Duchtel, 26, went into cardiac arrest shortly after 10pm on 21 May while eating dinner and playing cards with her parents at their home in Moreton Bay, Brisbane.
The girl, who was a government employee, had recently broken her leg and was living with her parents while she was recovering from surgery.
Doctors believe the surgery caused a blood clot and pulmonary embolism, though they are still waiting for the results of the autopsy.
Her mother, Kay Duchatel, tried to perform CPR to revive her daughter, but Daniela could not be saved.

Duchatel announced the tragic passing of his daughter on Facebook on Tuesday.
It is with the greatest sadness that I inform everyone that our daughter Daniella Jade Duchatel passed away peacefully last night,” he wrote.
A family friend, Chantelle Ley, started a GoFundMe that has already raised more than $15,000 with a goal of $20,000 so the family can stay home to mourn and help with funeral expenses.
Speaking to the Courier-Mail, Ley said the family were “absolutely devastated and will be taking a lot of time off work.”
He described Daniela as a special young woman with big dreams that she will unfortunately never be able to fulfill.
As of Friday, more than 130 people had donated for the foundation stone.
