The Peruvian government has announced the delivery of a bonus of S/600 for public sector workers, but there are doubts about the start date and the beneficiaries who will receive this subsidy. The Minister of Economy and Finance (MEF), Alex Contreras announced that they will present a bill to Congress to grant an extraordinary bonus of 600 soles to public sector workers. This benefit will be given to a total of 562,000 public employees, as part of a collective bargaining agreement signed last June.
“As part of the collective agreement agreements signed in June is a bonus of S/600 for more than 562,000 public sector workers. At the bargaining table, Minister Alex Contreras promised that the payment will be made to July,” he said.
FROM WHEN AND WHO WILL COLLECT THE 600 SOLES BONUS FOR THE PUBLIC SECTOR
More than 582,000 public sector workers will benefit from a S/600 subsidy, as provided by the government. This bonus will be given to employees involved in the CAS regime, civil service law, special careers in the public prison and the diplomatic service of the Republic. In addition, workers from legislative decrees 276 and 728 will also be included.
To access this subsidy, it is a requirement that the employment relationship with the public sector workers was established on June 30, 2023, and that they must be registered in the Computer Application for the Centralized Registry of Payrolls and Resource Data Human Resources in the Public Sector (AIRSHP) or in Electronic Form (PDT PLAME).
However, it is important to note that certain groups of workers cannot benefit from this bonus. Those who hold managerial or trust positions, as well as those who meet the characteristics of a public official, do not get this subsidy. Also excluded are employees with specialized careers in the health and education sectors, who are currently negotiating their claim statements.
WHEN WILL THE 600 SOLES BONUS BE PAID?
Currently, there is no link or exact date to know when this money will be given. Although the bonus was agreed two months ago, the representatives of the National Union of State Sector Unions are waiting for the quick approval of the parliament. Alex Contreras assured that they will speed up the process.
“There is coordination to get it approved quickly and the idea is that it can be delivered in September,” the minister said.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO ACCESS THE NEW MIVIVIENDA BONUS?

- Be qualified under the credit of the financial institution that administers the financial support.
- Cannot be the owner or co-owner of another house in any part of the country.
- Have a minimum contribution of 7.5% of the home value for the down payment.
- Not receiving housing support from the State or having any credit pending payment.
