8 people were shot, 4 people were shot during the riots in Baltimore over the weekend

BALTIMOR. Eight people were shot dead in Baltimore this weekend, including four fatalities, according to the Baltimore Police Department.

Most recently, just before 4:30 pm on Sunday, police responded to Block 300 S. Fulton Avenue in Carrollton Ridge for a shooting detected by the city’s ShotSpotter devices.

A man was declared dead at the scene.

Earlier Sunday, at 7:37 am, police responded at 4900 N. Franklintown Road due to a car fire. The woman in the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

Further investigation revealed that she was shot at, so the incident is being investigated as murder, according to a report from the city police.

A little after 7 a.m. Sunday, the Baltimore Fire Department called in police to report a man who was found shot to death in Block 2800 Manokin Street in Westport. Upon arrival, the police found a man dead at the scene with gunshot wounds.

Police said witnesses reported hearing gunfire around 1:30 am.

Police also said that at around 3:15 am Sunday, the police went to the hospital, where the man sought medical attention with a gunshot wound.

A 23-year-old man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound to his left forearm told officers that he was involved in an altercation in a bar in Baltimore County. As he left, he noticed a car was following him, he told police. As he entered 2600 Wilkens Avenue, a car pulled up next to him and someone in the car fired a gun at him, he told police.

Police also responded at block 1600 B. Saratoga Street in Franklin Square just after 12:45 pm Saturday with a report of the shooting and found a 33-year-old man with gunshot wounds, the press release said. The man was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

According to police, early Saturday morning, just after 2 am, a 60-year-old man arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound to his arm. The man told officers that he was shot after getting into a dispute in 4600 Pen Lucy Road in West Baltimore.

On Saturday night, officers reacted at 3400 Leverton Street in the Baltimore Highlands shortly before 8:30 pm and found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Police said he was rushed to hospital in critical condition and homicide detectives are investigating his injuries.

Earlier Saturday, a Morgan state student was shot in the chest on campus around 6:30 pm. The 18-year-old student was rushed to the hospital where he is “conscious, awake and stable,” the press release said. Northeastern District detectives are investigating the incident and asking anyone with information to call detectives at 410-396-2444.
