La Provincial Boxing Academy Viet Nam received the flag of the 85th anniversary of the Central Workers of Cuba (CTC) in recognition of their fruitful work in the union and in the training of high-performance athletes.
In the meeting held at the sports headquarters, Yamisleydis López Fernández, general secretary of the labor organization of the province, said that the institution is one of the two centers that in the territory of Camagüey achieved this prestigious endorsement.
He said that this is a discipline that has obtained relevant victories for the province in national competitions, and there are some references to local boxers in the past and now, as in the case of the well-known Julio César la Cruz, among many others.
This award was established by the National Secretariat of the CTC as a moral award for labor groups with relevant performance and good union work.
Dagoberto Riverón Trumboll, director of the prestigious school, considers that this recognition has become a new stimulus to consolidate the work of the center and the necessary unity between all the objects of the center.
The secretary of the Education, Science, and Sports Union, Wilfredo Acosta Valdés, determined that, if the results of the academy are very positive and there is an increase in sports, the performance of its workers is the same, with emulative reference indicators within the sector.
Among those present was Iosvanis Omar Urizarri Socarrás, provincial director of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education, and Recreation (INDER), as well as technicians, athletes, and workers in general.
