“Today, during the review process, an insect was found that macroscopically has the characteristics of a bed bug and was sent to the Institute of Biology, classified as Cimex lectularius (known as a bed bug).
the FIRST reported that so far the existence of many arthropods has not been detected in the area where the bed bug was collected or in other areas of the university.
“We reiterate that there is no plague or infestation of bedbugs and that the community is not at risk of health”

UNAM sought advice from biologists due to the infestation of bedbugs
the National Autonomous University of Mexico announced that it has requested the advice and collaboration of biologists and entomologists from FIRST so that the cleaning and disinfection process is done properly without harming other endemic species.
