After an explosive fight, Amber Heard took responsibility for defecating in her shared bed with Johnny Depp, according to one of Depp’s security guards, who testified that she called it “a terrible practical joke.”
Starling Jenkins, a member of Depp’s security team, testified about Mal in the trial between Heard and Depp on Thursday.
Depp is suing Hurd, alleging that he described himself as a victim of domestic violence in a 2018 op-ed for the Washington Post, and that he actually physically and verbally abused her. Heard denied and countered the allegations, alleging that Depp beat her under the influence of drugs or alcohol on multiple occasions.
Jenkins testified about the time around Heard’s 30th birthday dinner on April 21, 2016. Depp was late to the party at the couple’s shared Los Angeles penthouse apartment, the actor testified at the first trial as he was having an intense conversation with her. Business Manager about the unexpectedly disastrous state of his finances. After dinner, Depp alleged, Heard scolded and hit her.
Depp dropped Heard in the apartment on his way home in the Hollywood Hills. The next morning, after Heard went on a scheduled trip to Coachella, a housekeeper found a stool on Depp’s side of the couple’s shared bed.
“My initial reaction to that was, I laughed,” Depp testified earlier, describing the reaction to seeing a photo of Mal. “It was so out there, it was so bizarre and so bizarre that I could only laugh.”
Jenkins testified about the Coachella trip with Hurd. Before she, Heard, her sister, and a friend of hers left for the concert, Jenkins brought Heard’s belongings and two dogs.
They later “had a conversation concerning the surprise left in the boss’s bed,” testified Jenkins, which he referred to as “defecation.”
Hurd called it “a terrible practical joke wrong,” Jenkins said.
Depp previously testified at trial that he did not speak to Heard for more than a month after his mother’s death.
Heard blamed the defecation on two of his dogs, an explanation Depp persevered as he was teaching Yorkies that he said each weighed about 4 pounds.
“I lived with those dogs. I smelled them. It wasn’t dogs,” Depp said.
