A group of pro-Palestinian activists repeatedly interrupted a speech given by the president of the United States, Joe Biden, to protest against American support for Israel in its offensive against the Gaza Strip, which has left some 25,500 Palestinians dead since the end. October 7.
About ten people, who ended up being expelled from the area, proclaimed slogans in their speeches, among them “stop financing genocide,” “genocidal Joe must go,” “How many children have you killed?” “Israel kills two mothers every hour,” or “depriving babies of formula is a war crime.”
“It will take us a while. “They planned it all,” Biden stressed amid various interruptions, where the public also showed its support for the president while he remained silent, as reported by the White House. After leaving the event site, another group of pro-Palestinian activists once again berated Biden with words like “you should be ashamed.”
The United States is Israel’s main ally, and it has repeatedly reiterated its support for the “right to self-defense” after the attack by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) on Israeli territory, which left 1,200 hostages dead. Since then, Israeli authorities have killed 25,500 Palestinians—mostly women and children—in air and ground military operations and imposed a general assault on the enclave.
This added another 360 Palestinians killed at the hands of Israeli soldiers and civilians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
