The Democratic Action (AD) decided to establish its own command command in support of the consultative referendum on the defense of Guayana Esequiba that will take place on December 3.
This was reported in the ordinary session of the National Assembly (AN) this Thursday by the deputy of that political group, Oscar Ronderos, through the information point addressed to the Plenary.
The parliamentarian indicated that the AD campaign command is named Raúl Leoni, “… because during his term as president of Venezuela and in an act of saving sovereignty, he signed the Geneva Agreement in 1966,” citing a press release from Parliament.
In this regard, Ronderos recalled that the Minister of Foreign Affairs at that time, Marcos Falcón Briceño, negotiated with Guyana, England and other powers, to cancel the Paris Arbitration Award and make the Geneva Agreement the only solution mechanism between territorial dispute between Guyana. Venezuela.
“Anyone who feels Venezuelan is obliged to claim the sovereignty of Essequibo,” the parliamentarian declared before the plenary session.
He concluded his intervention by repeating that the Democratic Action will join the SI initiative, while at the same time it will be deployed in a campaign throughout the national territory, because Guayana Esequiba belongs to all Venezuelans.
Ratti condemned calls from the right not to participate in the referendum
On the other hand, also this Thursday the leader of the opposition Luis Ratti spoke about the Referendum in defense of Guayana Esequiba, issuing a warning about the calls from the extreme right not to participate in the consultation.
After condemning the call of the radical elements of the Venezuelan opposition not to vote in the referendum, he pointed out that in his opinion the call for action against the defense of the Venezuelan territory is a crime and should have a very large economic interest behind these actions.
