AEMET activates all alarms due to a severe change which no one expected and became a cause for alarm. We are facing a period of extreme heat at a time of the year where the normal thing is to expect bad weather that never seems to come. Winter disappears sometimes with the arrival of a month of January with improvements, we go from snow to short sleeves these days. But the worst will be around Spain, AEMET.
A drastic change is coming that no one expects.
This January we are waiting for a while marked by an anticyclone. A powerful event took hold and left us with numbers never seen before. In recent years, 20º has not been exceeded in some parts of the country, especially in areas marked by this climate bonanza.
The Mediterranean is on the brink of an emergency, Catalonia has already warned that if it doesn’t rain for the rest of January it will start preparing restrictions that will become a reality. They are there to try to secure what little water there is in reservoirs that haven’t been filled for years.
So it is important to be aware of that sky and that forecast of the time that may give us more than one happiness. At the moment it seems that the forecast for the next few days is very clear and some experts who can’t stop looking at the maps are starting to worry.
Winter recovery, as it should be and do it in such a way that everything comes in the best possible way, will be a reality. In these times, it is important that nature itself recovers a regularity that sometimes seems to be lost.
Worrying numbers were reached this Thursday, but the worst may be yet to come. The weekend forecast may not be good for those hoping to see winter or rain in some parts of the country. However, the AEMET forecast leaves no doubt about it.
This week’s AEMET forecast
AEMET’s forecast is without doubt For the weekend, some changes await us that we must consider and that will fully affect us. Experts highlight a series of events that are on the agenda. Weather maps are no doubt.
The forecast warns that these events may occur: “Intervals of strong winds and/or very strong gusts in the Canary Islands and the Strait. Morning fogs in Galicia, depressions in the northeast, both plains, Gulf of Valencia, Balearic Islands and Strait. “High temperatures for the season in most of the country.”
The anticyclone is the main star these days where it looks like we will be looking for a month of March in the middle of January. The future is especially worrying for experts because it’s not usually this time of year where we know ourselves.
According to this forecast: “Anticyclonic weather throughout the country, with a predominance of partly cloudy or clear skies and no rain. However, the approach of an Atlantic front will leave intervals of medium and high clouds in the northern third, without ruling out some weak rains. In the same way, abundant low clouds are expected in the Northern plateau, Galicia, valleys of the Southern plateau, depressions in the northeast, with the possibility of creating fog in the morning. Coastal fog is expected around the Strait and the Gulf of Valencia. Skies with little cloudiness or with some intervals of high clouds in the Canary Islands, with smoke throughout the archipelago.
Temperatures may drop a bit, but basically they stay pretty high for the time of year we have. According to this same forecast: “The maximum temperature will probably decrease in most of the northern and eastern parts of the peninsula, although it will increase in the Ebro valley and northwest of the Northern plateau. No significant changes are expected in the rest of the country or the lowest temperatures except in the extreme north where they will decrease. They will remain at high values for the season in most of the country, with frosts in the valleys of the Pyrenees, without rejecting them in the north of León, Palencia and in Iberia.
The only significant event is a wind that may mark some parts of the country: “It is likely that the wind from the east and southeast will continue in the Canary Islands, with strong intervals and/or very strong wind blowing in the eastern islands. Winds are expected to the east in the Cantabrian Sea, southeast coasts, and in the two plains. Lift with strong intervals in the Strait and Alborán. It will blow in the north wind in Ampurdán, and light with different directions to others.”
