With Christmas on the horizon and less than two weeks to go until December 24 (Christmas Eve), the State Meteorological Agency has started making forecasts for the dates. Some predictions become more important in a year where climate and thermal anomalies are frequent.
In this sense, AEMET points out that during the week of December 18 to 25, the dominant trend is the usual one although there are temperatures lower than usual during “large areas.”
As can be seen in the maps published by the X agency, the values may be four degrees lower than usual in the areas of Extremadura and the northwest of the peninsula. The rest of the peninsula also has a general decline in almost the entire geography.
Regarding the rains, they show that everything will continue as before, and it will confirm the anomaly that, unfortunately, has been established in the peninsula in recent months.
The average rainfall is average, except for some points where rainfall can occur locally. a few days before Christmas. Despite this, they warned that there are many days ahead and there may still be changes in the forecasts.
Split week: drop in temperature
What is more likely is the prediction they made this week, because the changes will take place between the first and second half, with the first few days still bringing the temperature rise at the end of last week.
The change takes place in the middle of the week, between Thursday and Friday, when the values begin to decrease in temperatures that are more common in mid-December, considering the beginning of the month of December, with a bridge where they even reach 28ºC in parts of the southern peninsula.
Despite this, the negative note will be left for a week, through the rain. Because, in general terms, it is not expected that there will be rain in most of the peninsula, except for some local points.
