Last week, Aeromexico announced one of the largest expansions between the United States and Mexico, taking advantage of the return to Category 1 in terms of air safety by the Federal Administration (FAA) of the United States.
Aeromexico will add 17 new routes from seven airports in Mexico towards nine destinations in the northern country, most of them have no competition. The new links focus on connecting to major Delta Air Lines hubs.
The airline intends to operate up to 60 daily flights to the United Stateswhich represents a 35% increase in its departures compared to 2023. Aeroméxico thus has a presence in 21 US cities.
According to the reservation system, nine routes starting in the first half of 2024 have already been sold. All new routes will be operated daily by Embraer 190 aircraft, with capacity for 11 passengers in Premier and 99 in economy, providing an offer of 1,386 seats per week respectively.
