This Wednesday, the head of the Federal Administration of Public Revenue (AFIP), Charles Castagnetoinformed that the agreement will be signed Exchange of tax information with the United States During “this month”.
“We are signing practically. The signing was raised to the Minister of Economy. The agreement has already been sent, it has come and gone through the system several times. We have talked in teleconference, We agreed with AFIP there. I calculate that this month Argentina and the United States will sign the agreement”, said Castagneto, speaking to radio 10
In addition, it discloses the amount of residents who calculate that is outside the country. “As a minimum, We have about $100,000 million undisclosed abroad in Argentina. This in foreign currency. Goods, on the other hand, that would be within the agreement. They are going to give us all the information and we will do the same”, the official explained.
On the other hand, he explained that the format they work with today is “point to point”: they do consultations for a particular person. The situation will be different after the signing of the agreement. “In this case it is a systematic route. All the information comes to Argentina”, he said.
“I think this agreement will be before and after”Castagneto, who said: “All the countries of the world are concerned with the passing of information on the same subject.”
According to the head of AFIP, the agreement will be signed by Economy Minister Sergio Massa. The proposal includes the automatic exchange of tax information between AFIP and its US counterpart, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This would allow the identification of deposits of Argentine citizens in that country that evade national taxes.
