AgEagle will provide eBee range drones to the US Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge Laboratory

The group of Americans, AgEagle Aerial Systems, a solution provider of software, sensors, and unmanned aerial systems for the commercial and government sectors, has secured a contract to supply a fleet of drones. eBeeX and eBee TAC to a non-profit company, UT-Battelle LCC, which directs and operates the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in the name of the United States Department of Energy (DOE).

According to AgEagle, among the factors driving this purchase, the advanced operational capabilities of both systems stand out above all: their validation as cyber-secure and flight-safe platforms; the performance shown in the test campaigns; immediate availability for purchase and operation; and guaranteed compliance with the necessary requirements proposed by the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

In addition, the eBee TAC approved by the program Blue UAS on the United States Department of Defense (DoD) that an index be configured that offers information on the different options available on the market, adapted to the changing needs of the current missions carried out by government operators. In other words, it is a clear list designed so that the government will simplify and facilitate the acquisition of UAS and UAVs. For his part, the Bee X It is the only aircraft approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to perform over-the-top operations (OOP) without the need to obtain flight exemptions.

The new fleet of drones will support researchers at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in their efforts to improve national security and emergency response. ORNL is the US Department of Energy’s largest energy science center. The institution is involved in various research activities focused on ensuring the country’s prosperity by solving its energy and environmental challenges.
