Air Premia expands its cargo network in Europe and the USA

Frankfurt (Germany) and Newark (New Jersey) have already joined Air Premia’s summer schedule from Incheon Airport (ICN) in South Korea, and Globe Air Cargo Korea will soon also promote cargo capacity to more new destinations in Europe, Asia, and the United States this year.

Air Premia’s Incheon (ICN) warehouse currently handles between 150 and 200 tons of cargo each week bound for major destinations in Asia, Europe, and the United States.

With flights to Los Angeles (LAX) in summer 2022, Air Premia became the first Korean hybrid airline to offer a scheduled destination in the United States. Since commencing operations in Newark (EWR) on May 22, 2023, there are now two Charter services in Europe beginning this summer: Frankfurt (FRA), Barcelona (BCN), and Oslo (OSL).

As Air Premia primarily handles passenger services, Globe Air Cargo Korea is on hand to ensure all cargo tasks are covered, from cargo sales and reservations to managing full scheduled charter flights. A wide range of products flow in and out of the airline’s main hub at Incheon Airport, including e-commerce shipments by air and sea, electronics, machinery, and auto parts.

“Globe Air Cargo Korea has been diligently supporting Air Premia since the start of its cargo journey just a year and a half ago. Since then, Air Premia’s fleet has grown to five Boeing 787-900s, with another four aircraft arriving before the end of 2024 and on track to reach profitability in 2024 as planned,” said SE Shin, CEO of Globe Air Cargo Korea. “During this period, Globe Air Cargo Korea has built a strong cargo customer base and we look forward to also driving the upcoming network expansion, which will provide the airlines with excellent and much-needed capacity to key destinations outside of Incheon Airport.” added.

Adrien Thominet, Executive Chairman of ECS Group, said: “It is impressive to see the speed at which Air Premia and Globe Air Cargo Korea are ramping up their cargo operations from the first passenger-to-cargo charter flight in late December 2021. And that growth is.” Proof that an ambitious and modern airline with an experienced cargo partner GSSA at its side can carve out a strong niche in a competitive market long served by established national carriers. ECS Group is proud to be a part of Air Premia’s continued success.

For his part, Sean C. Kang, Executive Vice President of Air Premia, noted that “Since it began operations in 2021, Air Premia has achieved remarkable results. With five B787-9 we operate passenger flights to Los Angeles, New York, Frankfurt, Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok and Narita. We are projecting sales of $300 million and operating income of $23 million this year. Over the next year we plan to vigorously expand our network to America and Europe with the introduction of more than four more B787-9s. We have weathered the difficult environment of the pandemic and achieved such successes in a short period of time thanks to the dedicated and professional contribution of ECS, our global GSA. I think Air Premia now has a great opportunity to expand. We expect that the ECS Group will make a significant contribution to the growth of our business in the years to come.”
