Albies contributes double and Braves prevail over Marlins

ATLANTA ( Associated Press) — Ozzie Albies doubled in the seventh inning to drive in two go-ahead runs, and the Atlanta Braves beat the Miami Marlins 6-4 on Friday night.

The Braves bounced back after blowing a three-run lead.

Miami led 4-3 before Ronald Acuña tied the game as a pinch hitter with a double down the left field line off Anthony Bass (1-2). Matt Olson, who led off the seventh with a walk, scored from the first on a two-corner shot.

After Bass walked Dansby Swanson, Albies hit a short drive to left field. Cuban left fielder Jorge Soler held the ball too long, and Acuña had a chance to score the go-ahead run.

Swanson ran, ignoring third base coach Ron Washington’s signal to stop, and made it to the plate as well.

Perhaps thinking that Swanson would anchor at third base, Soler threw the ball into the infield, instead of throwing it to the plate.

Jackson Stephens (1-1) struck out twice and didn’t allow a hit in two shutout innings. Kenley Jansen had his 11th save in 13 attempts.

For the Marlins, Cuban Soler 2-0 with a run scored. The Dominicans Bryan de la Cruz 1-0, Jesús Sánchez 4-0. Venezuelans Jesús Aguilar 4-1 with a run scored and two RBIs, Miguel Rojas 2-0.

For the Braves, the Dominican Marcell Ozuna 4-0. Venezuelans William Contreras 3-1 with a run scored and an RBI, Acuña 1-1 with a run scored and an RBI.
