While Alec Baldwin was hit by a new lawsuit on Wednesday and faces ongoing personal and professional repercussions from filming cameraman Halina Hutchins, he is receiving “comfort and love” from a new member of the Baldwinitos family.
Hours before attorney Gloria Allred held a press conference at which she accused Baldwin of playing “Russian roulette” when he fired a pistol on the set of Rust, Hilaria Baldwin, Baldwin’s wife, announced Wednesday Instagram that the family has acquired a new dear Bengal kitten.
A new lawsuit, filed by a member of the Rust crew, alleges that Baldwin, as an actor and producer, and others on the set of a low-budget Western in New Mexico were “reckless” and essentially played “fast and free. with care and stuff. The “rules” that contributed to Hutchins’ death on October 21, reports Deadline.
“Mr. Baldwin chose to play Russian roulette when he fired his gun without testing it and asking the gunsmith to do it in his presence,” Allred said.
“His behavior and that of the Rust producers was reckless,” added Allred.
But when those accusations hit Baldwin, his influential wife worked hard on Instagram on Wednesday to portray him in a sympathetic light.
This is certainly true of her post with cute kittens, which featured a montage of a new leopard-spotted feline that interacts with the couple’s six young children. The montage also includes a particularly striking photograph of a tired-looking 63-year-old Baldwin lying in bed with a blissful expression on his face from the presence of a kitten.

Hilaria Baldwin also recently shared photos of her husband hugging and walking with his children.
“Spending a lot of time together. Thanks to these children, ”wrote Hilaria Baldwin. She told the New York Post last month that she fears the movie and television star will develop PTSD after killing a person, even if he did it by accident.
In addition, Hilaria Baldwin said that the designer cat received a Spanish name: Cayetana Magdalena Baldwin. The name seems to match her declared love and alleged cultural appropriation of everything Spanish, including her long-falsified “half Spanish” identity.
Notably, all six young children of Alec and Hilaria Baldwin have Spanish names, as do their other two Bengal cats, Emilio Cook and Antonio Cupcake. As Hilaria Baldwin vividly pointed out in her emoji-filled Instagram post, their three cats – but not their children – also have a dessert-inspired middle name.
“We have a new member of our very large family of people and furs … the children named her Cayetana Magdalena Baldwin,” wrote Hilaria Baldwin. “Perfectly matches her brother cats with their confectionery middle name (Emilio Cook and Antonio Keks).”
Magdalena is a popular Spanish breakfast muffin, sprinkled with sugar. Boston-born Hilaria claims they were “a favorite treat for children,” and said the Balduinito brought them “from Spain.” She noted the name of the tapas bar according to her influencer habits, but the bar said it was in Williamsburg, Virginia.
Hilaria Baldwin also offered an update on Emilio Cook’s condition. The cat fled the family home in Vermont, where they left last month in an unsuccessful attempt to hide from the media following Hutchins’ death.
Much drama ensued after the paparazzi captured photos of Baldwin looking for Emilio in the woods, and Hilaria Baldwin criticized the media for not providing the family with privacy. Emilio was soon found, but he was wounded.
“He was hit by a car. It was terrible, ”Hilaria Baldwin said Wednesday. She also said that he broke his leg and burst his bladder. “After four blood transfusions, two surgeries, including metal on his leg, he is recovering. He is very angry with the cone and that he is being locked to restrict his mobility, but we are grateful that he is recovering. “
Hilaria Baldwin signed her note with a heartfelt smiley face, expressing her gratitude “for these animals that give us comfort and love … they have a healing effect.”
While cats can be “therapeutic”, they are also controversial. The Baldwin’s decision to pay thousands of dollars for each of their hybrid, semi-wild Bengal cats from a high-profile breeder has put them under the crosshairs of an organization they have long supported, The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
Baldwins probably should have known that PETA and other animal welfare organizations strongly discourage people from using breeders, encouraging them to take pets from shelters instead.
Meanwhile, the message with Hilaria Baldwin’s kitten came when her husband returned to Twitter to talk about President Joe Biden’s Build Back Better law policy, Fox News reported.
The cute kitten post also contrasts with the tragic events of the past month. Hutchins was killed while Baldwin was rehearsing a gunfight scene. Colt’s revolver, which he used as a prop, fired live rounds, killing 42-year-old cameraman Hutchins and wounding 48-year-old director Joel Sousa.
The 30 Rock veteran went on to insist that Hutchins’ death was a “tragic accident” and that he was handed a pistol that assistant director Dave Halls told him was safe to use.
But the new lawsuit by script supervisor Mamie Mitchell echoes what Allred said at her press conference, saying that Baldwin was mistaken in believing other people’s words about the weapon’s safety, Deadline reported.
“Alec Baldwin should have assumed that the gun in question was loaded if and until he showed him or verified that it was not loaded,” according to the lawsuit, according to Deadline.
“He had no right to rely on some alleged statement from the assistant director that it was ‘cold steel’,” the lawsuit says, adding: “Mr. Baldwin cannot hide behind the assistant director trying to justify the fact that he didn’t check the pistol himself. ”
Crew member Serge Svetnoy also filed a lawsuit last week against Baldwin, Halls, gunsmith Hannah Gutierrez Reed and several other defendants, accusing them of negligence that caused him “severe emotional distress.”
The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Department is continuing to investigate the shooting to determine how a live round entered the scene and the gun.
The agency said in court documents that props master Sarah Zachary removed a pistol from a locked truck with props and handed it over to Gutierrez Reed, Yahoo reported. The gunsmith loaded it with cartridges from a box of dummies, but one of the cartridges was clearly live.
Gutierrez Reed said she showed the gun to Halls, who admitted he did not examine it thoroughly before handing it over to Baldwin, Yahoo added.
In an interview on Monday, actor and director George Clooney also suggested that Baldwin should have checked the weapon himself, even if he believed the weapon was safe.
“Every time they give me a gun on the set – every time they give me a gun, I look at it, open it, show it to the person I’m pointing at, I show it to the crew. Clooney said. Every take.
