The weights gave another medal in the competition, this one bronze.
Venezuelan swimmer Alfonso Mestre won his second silver medal at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.
This time he did it in the 800 meter freestyle, with a time of 7:54.46 minutes.
So far he is the only Creole who has won two medals. He still has to compete in the 1,500 meters.
“With every stroke I think about Venezuela,” he told the press department of the Venezuelan Olympic Committee.
He said he was happy with his performance and is already focusing on his next attempt at the competition.

This Monday, there is a second medal, it is bronze in weightlifting in the 102 kilo category. Jhohan Sanguino did it by lifting 106 in the snatch, 205 in the clean and jerk and 371 in total.
Meanwhile, the men’s 3×3 finished fourth after losing to Trinidad and Tobago 20-21.
