Alicante, January 17, 2024. The Contracting Board of the Alicante City Council has classified the companies eligible to be awarded contracts for the supply of 10 firefighting vehicles for the Alicante Fire Prevention and Extinction Service (SPEIS) that are turned off. to offer four lots for the amount of 2,719,081.75 euros, with offers from Iveco España SL for lot 1, Incpresa SAU for lot 3, and Floymeca SA for lots 2 and 4.
The municipal body proposed the classification and award of lot 1 to Iveco España, which submitted an offer of 1,553,325.40 euros, to Incpresa SAU lot 3 with a proposal for 755,161 euros, and to Flomeyca SA lot 2 for 184,7184.108.40.206 euros. Together, they are 2,706,833 euros.
In particular, lot 1 includes the supply of two heavy urban pumpers and one light urban pumper; lot 2 includes the purchase of a decontamination van; lot 3 includes an air reserve van, another diving van, and a third for the rescue. , plus a rescue chassis-cab truck. Lot 4 includes the contribution of two command and leadership vehicles.
This competition is part of a set of initiatives worth more than six million euros for the renewal of the fleet of vehicles, materials, and facilities of the municipal emergency services. In this regard, it is worth noting that this past week the offers of the companies competing in the competitions for the award of renovation works in the Jesús González Soria park, on Jaime II Avenue, the pergola for trucks, and the access to the basement door of Idelfonso Prats in Playa San Juan of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Service (SEPIS) in Alicante cost more than three million euros.
Specifically, in the first procedure, a total of 11 companies chose to be awarded this tender, which was placed in the tender for 405,380 euros. The reform project of the ‘Jesús González Soria’s Fire Prevention and Extinction and Rescue Service Park (SPEIS), located on Jaime II Avenue, responds to the need to improve habitability and distribution of building spaces to cover the requests raised by firefighters. A total of 15 repair actions are considered, from bedrooms to changing rooms and toilets, the dining room and kitchen, the gym, installing an elevator, etc..
Regarding the improvement works of the Idelfonso Prats park for the installation of a pergola for trucks and a basement door access in addition to a prefabricated house for kennels, in two lots, three companies are presented in L1, which corresponds to the pergola, while L2 is declared as desert. The three companies competing in this competition are: Thicorca Herrería y Construction SL, Promed Consulting SL, and Grupo Villaescusa Desarrollo SL
The works are carried out in two lots with a completion period of two months for 161,077 euros. The first lot includes an external canopy to shade the parked fire vehicles for 50,823 euros. The second lot is for the project of the implementation of the entry door in the basement and prefabricated house, which is worth 110,254 euros.
6.5 million investment
Alicante will spend more than 6.5 million euros on different contracts to improve materials, equipment, and facilities for the fire brigade, local police, and civil protection in Alicante. Of this, 3.7 million euros are directed to firefighters, who have three tenders in the process of awarding the contracting table, to which is added the recent award of the supply of 250 helmets, 300 helmets, and intervention gloves, and 100 flashlight helmets for personal protective equipment for another 308,066 euros.
In addition, last September, the contract for the preventive and corrective maintenance of the SPEIS mobile fleet, consisting of 32 trucks and command vehicles, was also awarded to the company Truck Deal SL for 176,217.05 euros for the next two years. Among the improvements introduced in this service, it is worth highlighting the extension of the repair warranty from six to 10 months, as well as monitoring the condition and maintenance of vehicles through a computer application.
