The general secretary of Copei and presidential candidate, Juan Carlos Alvarado, pointed out that the results of the primary on Sunday, October 22, are an obstacle to the free constitutional struggle and urge to remove the barrier of social hatred in Venezuela.
In a clear reference to the results obtained in the main event last Sunday, the green awning called this Wednesday to “followers of the right” not to fall into false expectations of greed that could lead them back to roads of despair.
“We have seen some results from political leaders from an opposition sector, and we have shown that what they have are political leaders and not political organizations,” said Alvarado.
In this sense, Alvarado assured that Venezuela “can no longer tolerate any tricks, lies, and manipulations”; therefore, “we must not fall into the false expectations of greed, because it can once again produce a force of despair,” he said.
He pointed out that he was excluded from the elections, “called by a minority sector of the Venezuelan opposition”, However, Copei will continue his tour of the national territory.
“Let’s think about it: pride is cruel and merciless. We think too much and feel too little. Our Republic can no longer tolerate any deceptions, lies, or manipulations. Let’s fight for the realization of the bright future that we all dream of; let’s make our dream of a truly democratic, developed Venezuela without the restraint of backwardness and anger, without radicalism, and without too much, fulfilled,” they said in a statement released this Wednesday.
“The current situation in our country tells us that it is not necessary to see only the tree; we must see the whole forest and pay attention to it. What happened on Sunday, October 22, in our country was an internal consultation of that opposition sector,” he added.
“In our country, we are convinced that there is enough space for democratic participation to put Venezuela on the path of prosperous and permanent development because of its productive potential due to its wealth and vast natural resources, but we are missing our way: egocentrism “The greed of the political world of the opposition and some of its actors is poisoning the human soul,” he said in his remarks.
Copei’s party called to promote, as a matter of urgency, the creation of a “national democratic coalition” in which all sectors of the country participate for the good of the country.
“We must be able to sit together at the same table in brotherhood so that our children, our grandchildren, live in a country where they are not judged by their ideology or political status, without violence, and in the full use of the development of their rights, ending today the words of hate and discrimination. This is our hope,” said Alvarado.
