AMLO will propose the absence of autonomous organizations in the reform package

The president of Mexico, Andrew Manuel López Obrador, revealed today that in his package of reforms, which he will present on February 5,  all autonomous bodies will be demolished.

In the morning conference at the National Palace, López Obrador explained that his government reviews the actions of these autonomous organizations “with a magnifying glass.”

We also examine with a magnifying glass what these organizations are doing, to the extent that I will propose in the package of reform initiatives that they disappear,” he said.

“All organizations are created to protect individuals and affect the public interest,” he said in the Treasury Room on Thursday.

The president of Mexico thus responded to the statements of the president of the Federal Economic Competition Commission (coffee), Andrea Marvanin, that the said body will make the sale of 13 plants of the company in Spain, Iberdrola, to the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) in June.

Among the organizations he criticized were Cofece, the Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT), the National Institute of Transparency and Access to Information (Henna), and the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE).

The president of Mexico explained that during the neoliberal period, “the assets of the people and the particular country were handed over; there was a privatization that came only as a precedent in history made by Porfirio Díaz, who gave him the oil, the mines, the lands, water, railways, and banks until foreigners, that’s the background. “That’s why the Revolution.”

“So they made all the reforms they needed in the Constitution, so, although we have already made some, I will present new reforms to change the articles approved against the interests of the Mexican people, reforms that were done during the neoliberal era. in the last 36 years to favor individuals only,” he said.

“But it doesn’t stop there; no more, they created their government because they had to protect themselves, and that’s why they created all these organizations, which are supposed to be autonomous where the private, the particular, has more weight than the public. So the nature of this organization is, he said.

The man from Tabasco emphasized that autonomous organizations are “a joke” used as an excuse to say that there is no monopoly; this is his reason for losing them.

We must implement this administrative reform, and think how much we will save because we will not continue to maintain these factional, heavy, anti-popular organizations. Or are we going to continue with the Transparency Institute?” he emphasized.

The president of Mexico revealed this week that the package of constitutional reforms that he will present on February 5 will amount to 10 initiatives, including those of the judiciary, the national guard, and republican austerity.

Since last Thursday, the president has announced that he will send the last package of constitutional initiatives before the end of his term in October.

The Mexican leader expressed his hope that his alliance of parties will regain the two-thirds majority in Congress needed to renew the Magna Carta and that he lost in the 2020 midterm elections.
