Antioch domestic standoff ends in arrest; woman, child freed

ANTIOCH – A 30-year-old Oakland man was arrested on multiple charges related to confronting police, while two other men in their 20s were arrested Tuesday in a separate search for illegal firearms, authorities said.

Police said that at around 10:20 a.m., police responded to block 100 of East Seventh Street in connection with a possible incident of domestic violence and arrived to find out that an Oakland man wanted by Oakland police was holding a 21-year-old woman and a 3-year-old woman. – an old child against his will.

When the police tried to talk to this man, he barricaded himself inside the house. After Crisis Response Officers arrived at the scene and spoke to him on the phone, he surrendered and was taken into custody. Police said the woman and child were unharmed and the man was imprisoned in Martinez County Jail.

In a separate search warrant that began at about 6 a.m., an Antioch police special forces team served a warrant to search for illegal firearms in a home at Block 5100 Dirspring Way.

After a search found a pistol, magazines and a drum rifle magazine, the 22-year-old and 23-year-old men were taken into custody and arrested on suspicion of multiple charges. Police said the two were taken to the Martinez County Jail.
