At least one person was killed in a shootout this afternoon, Friday, August 18, in the center of the municipality of Chalco, in the state of Mexico.
The first reports detailed that one person, a man, died from gunfire in front of the Tuiio store on Avenida Aquiles Serdán, near the point known as La Óptica, an area of high trade and transport, died later two men attacked him directly.
Two other people, one under the age of five and another man, were injured in the area of the street stalls that are regularly set up there. The point is also used for the delivery of goods by the so-called “Nenis” of the community.
The men who fell victim to the attack were identified as merchants.
