Auroville – Auroville City Council will hear and decide on a number of rezoning and zoning ordinances at Tuesday’s city council meeting.
The first is a second reading about a move to reorganize a property used as a public school at 440 Plumas Avenue. The Council will consider a contract amendment for those on the project to complete the additional studies required by Caltrans and to support the acquisition of the rights. To complete the project design and construction. This revision request oversees the project management of this project and the grant for the city administered by Bennett Engineering Services.
The recommendation is to approve contract amendments for Bennett Engineering to continue providing project management services through the extended project schedule.
There will be a second hearing to consider re-zoning two parcels used as churches at 2833 Fort Wayne St. Also, Council will approve zoning changes on Fort Wayne Street to 1.4 acres and across the street.
Auroville City Council will hold a second reading and consider approving an amendment to reopen the 3.91-acre portion for a future veterans housing project.
City Council will receive information about the final settlement agreement between Butte County and the City of Auroville in relation to the Southside Community Center. The settlement releases any interest the city has in the property for a one-time payment of $250,000. It is recommended that the Mayor be authorized and directed to sign an agreement to release the property claim to the City of Auroville.
There will be a second hearing on littering, rubbish and weeds and reduction in disposal of solid waste, recycling and organic waste therein.
The Council will receive information about the Financial Recovery Fund in respect of Auroville Inn. The inn needs financial assistance of $300,000. The recommendation is whether to approve the loan program for businesses significantly affected by COVID-19.
