Joan Peñarroya’s men beat Casademont Zaragoza in a match fought to the end for victory
New victory in the Endesa League for the Gasteiztarras who defeated the Maño team 80 to 85. So Baskonia added its fourth victory in the domestic competition and closed a round week full of victories. Baskonia scored first in the first minutes of the game, but Casademont Zaragoza was able to rally and put together an 11-2 run to take the lead. Joan Peñarroya’s men managed to fight until the end and took the first quarter by 23 to 24. The Blaugranas increased the intensity at the start of the second half and managed to put the longest distance on the scoreboard (25- 33). Finally, the game went to half-time with Gasteiztarras leading the score by 34 to 45.
The Blaugranas continued to dominate the game after leaving the locker room in the first minutes, maintaining the distance on the scoreboard (47-63). Porfirio Fisac’s men were able to chain several offensive actions that brought them closer and were within 7 of the Baskonistas at the end of the third period (58-65). Casademont Zaragoza broke through in the middle of the quarter and regained the lead in the game (70-69). Baskonia fought until the end and thanks to good offensive actions added a fourth victory to ACB by 80 to 85.
Baskonia is already thinking about next week where it will face three games at home, with a double Euroleague matchday.
