Bears at Lions: Everything you need to know about Week 12 ahead of Thanksgiving, including news about QB Justin Fields.

The Chicago Bears will try to get through a weird couple of days and focus on taking first place in the Detroit Lions on Thursday at Ford Field.

We’ve got week 12 game updates all day long.

Inactive days of the 12th week announced

Bears receiver Allen Robinson will not play Thursday against the Lions as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury.

Robinson was listed as a dubious player after not training all week.

The Bears previously announced that defender Justin Fields (ribs), running defender Damien Williams (calf) and defender Akiem Hicks (ankle) will not play due to injuries.

Also inactive for the Bears are full-back Teese Tabor, tight-end Jesper Horsted and full-back Mario Edwards Jr.

Safety of the Bears Eddie Jackson will return from a hamstring injury after missing the last two games.

For the Lions, midfielder Trinity Benson, defender David Bluff, outside midfielder Trey Flowers and forwards Matt Nelson and Halapulivaati Whitai are inactive.

Justin Fields News

NFL Network reported On Thursday, an MRI of the ribs of QB freshman Justin Fields showed that he had “tiny fractures” in several of his ribs.

This is not a major injury, but worse than the publication’s initial report that initial tests showed his ribs were simply bruised.

“We are very fortunate that there is nothing lasting about this; It’s definitely not an IR issue, “Bears general manager Ryan Pace said in his pre-game show at WBBM-AM 780.” It’s more of an everyday thing. We will go through this game. It’s good that after this game you will have extra time to reevaluate not only Justin, but also some other guys, to cure them and prepare them for the game. ”

Bears coach Matt Nagy said earlier this week that he doesn’t know if the injury was from one game or from multiple punches. Fields relinquished Sunday’s defeat to the Ravens early in the third quarter after being shot down 6 yards away.

Thursday is the first game he missed since starting the Bears for then-injured Andy Dalton in week three.

At Halas Hall this week …

After their fifth defeat in a row on Sunday against the Ravens, their short week of preparation for the Lions was cut short by news that the Bears were planning to fire coach Matt Nagy after their Thanksgiving game. Bears chairman George McCuskey told players and coaches that the report was untrue according to Athletic, but it still got in the way of the team’s preparation.

Now the Bears will try to get that distraction out of their minds as they prepare to kick off Dalton for the first time since September 19. Dalton will start in place of Fields, who is recovering from a rib injury he suffered while playing against The Raven.

Meanwhile, the 0-9-1 Lviv will attempt their first win of the season with defender Jared Goff, who has recovered from a side injury and is expected to start, according to the NFL Network.

Injury report

The Bears were called into question by wide receiver Allen Robinson (hamstring), while Fields, defender Akiem Hicks (ankle) and running back Damien Williams (calf) were ruled out.

Safeties Eddie Jackson (hamstring) and Tashaun Gipson Sr. (chest), defender Mario Edwards Jr. (ribs) and host Marquis Goodwin (shoulder) were listed as questionable, while wide receiver Darnell Mooney (foot) was restricted in Wednesday, but hasn’t been given a game designation, which means it has to play.

The Bears also moved successor Isaiah Coulter and midfielder Sam Kamaru from training to active for Thursday’s game.

The Lions are missing receiver Trinity Benson, outside midfielder Trey Flowers, tackle tackle attacker Matt Nelson, corner-back AJ Parker and defenseman Halapulivaati Waitay, and defensive end Michal Brokers and running back Jermar Jefferson are questionable.
