BET Awards 2022: Complete Winners List

Black Excellence will take center stage at the 2022 BET Awards on Sunday night to celebrate achievements in music, culture and sport.

Taraji P. Henson will once again host the show at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, where artists including Lizzo, Lil Wayne, Chance the Rapper, Ella Mai, Roddy Rich, Jack Harlow and Chloe Bailey are set to perform.

Doja Cat is leading the nominations in the ceremony with six nominations.

He is very likely to dominate the R&B and hip-hop categories with his chart-topping third studio album “Planet Her”, expected to take home several awards. His smash single “Kiss Me More” with SZA, which earned the singer his first Grammy Award earlier this year, is also up for Video of the Year and Best Collaboration.

Ari Lennox and Drake are tied as the second most nominated artists, having each nominated four times.

In the Album of the Year category, the rapper will face Doja Cat, which also includes Kanye West, Silk Sonic, Tyler, The Creator, HER and current winner Jazmine Sullivan.

But the highest honor of the night will go to Sean “Diddy” Combs, who will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award on the show following last year’s winner Queen Latifah. The coveted award is given each year to industry stalwarts who have “significantly shaped culture through their extensive careers” and “have been transformational leaders who consistently inspire generations by setting true standards of excellence” “

The hip-hop mogul and entrepreneur certainly fits the bill, selling over 100 million records worldwide in his career and founding the legendary Bad Boy Records.

Combs is set to take the stage for a star-studded retrospective at the ceremony, which will feature Mary J Blige, Jodesi, Nas, Lil’ Kim, Busta Rhymes, The Locks, Bryson Tiller, Faith Evans and The Maverick City Choir.
