Vinod Tiwari says about this, ‘The matter is that in 2016 I had announced a film, whose name was District Gorakhpur. Ten days ago I came to know that Ravi Kishan is also making a film on Gorakhpur. This title cannot be given by IMPAA because I have the copyright of this title. I have got the letter issued through IMPA.
He further said, ‘I have also sent a personal message to Ravi Kishan ji and asked him questions about the title. See, personally I have worked very hard on this project. My work is already over, but this project announcement of Ravi ji is shocking for me.
Vinod also said that, ‘I have already talked to Ravi ji about district Gorakhpur. I told this story to our common friend. Rajesh Mitra told this story to Ravi ji one and a half years ago today. His manager was also talked about in connection with this project. I wanted to meet him but things didn’t work out. Just now when I saw his poster on Insta, it is exactly like the poster of my film. I am surprised to see this poster of him, Hon’ble MP should pay attention to the hard work of people like us. I got the copyright of the title of my film 6 years back. I have authority in Hindi as well as Bhojpuri language. Impa has issued notice in the name of Ravi ji only.

On the other hand, on the copyright dispute of the poster, Ravi Kishan says, ‘Well.. we will find out. If there is something like this, then we will request them and take this title. If there is a register in his name, then it will be discussed with him.

It is being said that this film is based on the life of UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. On this, director Vinod says, ‘I have clarified in my last interview that this film is not on Yogi Adityanath, but it is the story of a student union leader.’ At the same time, Ravi Kishan also maintains silence on the matter of his film being a biopic of the Chief Minister, saying, ‘No, its story cannot be revealed yet.’
