BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and Park Jung Min may star in a new drama together!
On August 31, YTN reported that Park Jung Min and Jisoo would star in Coupang Play’s new series, Influenza (literal title).
In response to the report, a source at Park Jung Min’s agency, SEM Company, said, “It’s one of the projects he wants to star in.”
Jisoo’s agency, YG Entertainment, responded similarly: “She received an offer for ‘Influenza’ and is reviewing the offer.”
Set against the backdrop of a high-altitude air defense unit in Seoul, “Influenza” tells the story of soldier Jae Yoon and his girlfriend, Young Joo, who have just been informed of their breakup and are running toward each other. I struggle to face a lot of zombies.
The drama will be a collaboration between Parasite’s screenwriter Han Ji Won, director Yoon Sung Hyun of Bleak Night and Time to Hunt, and writer Ji Ho Jin.
Park Jung Min will reportedly play the role of Jae Yoon, who belatedly enlisted in the military at the age of 26 after trying to seek alternative service with a job in the defense industry. Due to his fear of the future, he becomes obsessed with his girlfriend and eventually breaks up, eventually facing a world dominated by zombies. Though once weak and insecure, he gradually begins to take on the role of squad leader as they battle the zombies.
Jisoo will reportedly take on the role of young Joo, who is new to the workforce and excited for her boyfriend to return from the military. While struggling with Jae Yoon not understanding her feelings, she receives a notice of the breakup. She sets out to meet her boyfriend but discovers that zombies have taken over him and gradually develops a stronger character as she struggles to survive.
