Border Patrol Officer Says White House Continues False Narrative in News of ‘Whipping’ Haitian Immigrants

A top Border Patrol official has accused Jane Sackie and the White House of perpetuating the “police bad” narrative and pushing the press secretary’s response to misinformation after border agents in Del Rio reportedly “whipped” Haitian migrants. Had gathered there in recent days.

Speaking to The Epoch Times, Brandon Judd, a Border Patrol agent and head of the National Border Patrol Council, said agents on horseback in the area were not arresting Haitian refugees with whips because multiple media outlets and officials had accused them of doing so. .

On Monday, Soar Hackett, executive director of People First Future, a political action committee formed by Democrat Julian Castro, visited Viral on Twitter He shared pictures of border patrol agents on horseback while they were holding their “whips”, while Haitian refugees stood beside them.

Hackett wrote on Twitter, “This is an indomitable cruelty to people fleeing disaster and political destruction. The administration needs to stop it. ”

He also shared video footage showing border agents on horseback trying to get migrants to wander across a river.

The post was quickly shared 27,000 times, with Congressman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (DN.Y.) and Senator Jeff Markley.

An El Paso Times report on the situation in Del Rio also went viral. An attempt from it claims that a border agent “horribly whipped” Haitian men who were trying to cross the river again after buying food and water in Ciudad Aquana, Mexico.

Illegal immigrants cross the Rio Grande between Del Rio (remote) and Acuna, Mexico. On September 20, 2021, some people migrated to Mexico to avoid deportation from the United States to Acuna, Mexico.

“It’s your ‘Defend the Police’ movement,” Jude said of the video. “They only show a small part of a video. Under the administration, horse patrol agents are trained to ensure the safety of migrants, to keep them away from their horses, because horses can harm people – they can inadvertently step on them, they can get behind. , They can kick them.

“And so agents have to keep immigrants away from horses for their own protection. And so they would use the reins, to turn the reins, so that they would stay away from the horse. But they don’t use those reins to hurt, they try to hurt people. Those agents did not use those reins in any way, shape or form to try to impress anyone. ”

Jude added that horses are used as a “preventive tactic” to prevent illegal immigrants from coming to the United States.

Demands for a whip soon reached the White House, Press Secretary Jane Saki told reporters during a briefing on Monday, adding that she had seen some footage but had not yet received all the information.

“I can’t imagine any context would make it appropriate,” Psyche said. “But I don’t have extra details.”

Asked if agents accused of whipping Haitian immigrants should be fired, Saki replied, “And, of course – I have no extra context. I don’t think anyone looking at this footage would think it was acceptable or appropriate. ”

Jude said Psyche’s comments were “horrible” and only helped perpetuate the description that law enforcement was bad. “And it just enters into the larger, more liberal, narrative of misleading the police,” he said.

The head of the National Border Patrol Council said his agents also felt abandoned by the administration, noting that the Haitian camp had become a “Warzone refugee camp” and pointed to a key difference between the administration of former President Donald Trump and the current Biden administration.

“They [border patrol agents] Abandoned by the administration. I mean, I get that all the time. My representatives are constantly coming to me and asking, ‘Why is this administration not doing anything to protect the border?’ Why is this administration allowing cartels to get free rein at the border? ‘Why this administration? [doing nothing] When did they say they were going to practice human migration? I don’t know, ”Jude said.

“Tell me, does it seem humane here?” He stood in front of the Haitian camp and asked.

“It looks like a Warzone refugee camp. It looks like this. And if anyone says it’s humane, I want to come to them and explain to me how it’s here, humane. But it’s the Biden administration. It never happened with the Trump administration.”
