Brazil beat Venezuela to reach the semi-finals of the Copa America

BOGOTÁ ( Associated Press) – Brazil has confirmed that its broad bias is justified.

With her best performance in this women’s Copa América, “Canarinha” beat Venezuela 4–0 on Monday to qualify for the semi-finals as Group B leader.

At the Centenario Stadium in Armenia, the team led by Swedish Pia Sundhej registered their third spectacular victory, allowing them to score 11 goals and conceded none.

“We scored four wonderful goals against an opponent who made it difficult for us in the first half,” Sundage said.

Forward Bia Zanaretto opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with a fine header following a precise cross from Tamires.

“Vinotinto”, who had kept the fence unbeaten in his first two appearances, defended himself with order in the early period, but was given in on the Amazon attack in the supplementary phase.

Venezuela’s coach Pamela Conti of Italy said, “In the second half, Brazil stood for its physique and we could not stop it.”

At the age of 51, Zanaretto signed his third assist of the tournament by driving a counterattack by Arya Borges.

Brazil’s historic scorer Debinha was responsible for widening the gap in the final leg. At 59, he advanced in a cross from Antonia, and at 66 he signed a great individual play, with a shot on defense Maria Perazza, which ended with a cross shot.

“We took advantage of the opportunities we had and I am very happy with the goals,” Debinha said.

Brazil made their semi-final appearance with an impressive record of 9 points, while Venezuela and Argentina, who have 6 units each, will play for second place and tickets to the next stage on Thursday.
