BREAKING: Northwestern Safety Transfer Brandon Joseph Commits to Notre Dame

Notre Dame landed on a major commitment in safety today Brandon Joseph, a former Northwestern standout who is headed to play for Fighting Irish as a transfer. It’s a big win for the Irish and arguably the biggest recruit win for Freeman to date. He, along with Safari coach Chris O’Leary, made it a point to arrive as soon as Joseph hit the portal and it paid off.

In 2019, Joseph appears in four sports. He ended the year with four tackles. However, in 2020, he became a household name in college football. A first-team All-American, he made 52 tackles, 6 interceptions, and 8 pass breakups in just 9 games. In 2021, he had a total of 69 tackles, 2 more interceptions and 5 more pass breakups.

Joseph announced his entry into the portal on 30th December.

“I want to start by thanking God,” he wrote. “If it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t be where I am today. For Northwestern, the last three years have been the best opportunity of my life. To play at Ryan Field in front of great Northwestern fans and such It was a once in a lifetime opportunity to attend a prestigious university. I want to thank my coaches, teammates and everyone else who supported me throughout my time at Northwestern. Northwestern made me the highest in the Big 10 given the opportunity to showcase my skills at the level. I am forever grateful for this opportunity. To my brothers in the team, you have all patted me on the back since we came out in the summer of 2019 and we have created countless memories The ones I’ll keep forever. For the last few months, I’ve been thinking long and hard about where I’ll be next year. We have decided to continue and register my name in the transfer portal.”
