A lot has happened in the rise of the Bruins in 2022.
But one thing that seems to be under the radar? A team’s ability to put defeat behind. He did it once again in Winnipeg on Friday night, as the team returned from a deflationary 4-2 win over the Jets on Wednesday night in Minnesota. With the win, the Bruins improved to 18-4-2 in their first game since the loss.
The reason behind that number, as explained by Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy, is a very simple one.
“We don’t like to lose,” Cassidy said after the game.
But as Cassidy explained beyond the obvious, it also goes back to the mindset of the team as a contender.
“I think our guys, the next night, are usually ready to go,” Cassidy said. “We wanted to win and show it, you know? The end of a road trip, the desperate team at home with some momentum and we got the game back. [in the third period], And it is to the credit of the people in the room that they kept their composure and then stepped up their game when needed. ,
For the Bruins, the game was coming through, with the Jets putting a quick-strike goal in the rearview mirror, and a second-chance opportunity when Brendan Dillon casually pulled a puck up and was successfully hit by the Jets over the glass to the Boston Powers. – Chance to play late in the third round of the tied game.
“I think they were disappointed in the last power play,” admitted Cassidy. “Part of our meeting before the game was that his D would be playing a bit off the net, so getting a puck off point would be an option for us tonight. It took us a while to get used to that one, but Charlie McAvoy could get used to it. does a good job to get and then does the dirty work in front of taylor hall.
“We had to go to Plan B or C to get the best look, and we’ve finally got it and it’s good for us to be rewarded.”
