The PRO roundtable of Buenos Aires Province will meet again this afternoon to discuss the political strategy and electoral rules for the primary, open, simultaneous and compulsory elections (PASO) to be held on August 13. The party is undergoing an internal spat between the space’s two presidential candidates, Horacio RodrÃguez Larreta and Patricia Bulrich. The tension between the two prevented unity in the Buenos Aires region and each would field its own candidate for governor. Diego Santilli is the bishop of the head of government, while Nestor Grindetti represents the bulrichista wing.
PRO’s Buenos Aires officials will try to move forward in an agreement to outline the details on the regulations to make up the legislative list. Due to the internship they face, Ekta practically gets fired. This implies that each presidential candidate will take their candidates to legislators and mayors. For this reason, larretismo and bullrichismo will have to negotiate which will be the floors and percentages of representation for the unification of the different lists after STEP.
This is a meeting that takes place every Monday of the PRO leaders of Buenos Aires. However, in recent weeks, in view of the closing of the lists on June 24, these meetings started taking place in person. As Infobae has learned, the province’s Yellow Table will meet in person today and next Monday before the candidates’ presentation before the Electoral Justice.
Santilli, Grindetti, Cristian Ritondo, PRO Mayor Pablo Petreca (Junin), Javier MartÃnez (Pergamino), Soledad MartÃnez (Vicente López), Mariano Barroso (July 9), Julio Garo (La Plata), Ezequiel will attend the meeting. Galli (Olavarria), Diego Valenzuela (February 3), Guillermo Montenegro (General Pueyredón), Javier Iguacel (Captain Sarmiento), Martin Yeza (Pinamar); National Deputy Silvia Lospennato; Provincial legislators Christian Griboedo, Alejandro Rabinovich, Daniela Reich, Juan Pablo Allen, Alex Campbell, Adrian Urelli, Florencia Ratamoso, Adrian Urelli. It is also expected that there will be references from PRO “without land” such as Ramiro Tagliaferro and Martiniano Molina.
The conclave would take place in the middle of what Grindetti had negotiated with Ritondo to define the political integration of “ritondismo” for Bulrich’s army in Buenos Aires Province. The two leaders plan to meet again this week to make progress in this regard. At the same time, Santilli negotiates to choose his candidate for lieutenant governor. The main idea of the national deputy is a formula mixed with a radical leader. The second option is the direction of liberalism. A third scenario, which cannot be ruled out, is a pure pairing of a PRO with some mayor from the yellow party.

There was no sign of rain in Mar del Plata on Friday and Guillermo Montenegro, the mayor of General Pueredón, thought it appropriate to entertain his guest with lunch in the city’s port. It was a good plan to reduce the political tension of JVC. Viento en Popa is a classic from the coastal city to savor seafood and fresh fish. RodrÃguez Larreta, the food’s star guest, takes advantage of campaign visits not only to add allies and votes, but to try out each location’s menu. The PRO Presidential Internship with Bulrich is open-ended, and for the head of government of Buenos Aires, the political link with the mayor of the largest municipality in the interior of Buenos Aires Province is important. In particular, 20 days after the presentation of the candidature before the electoral justice.
Tourism gives it centrality. Furthermore, General Pueredon is a highly prestigious district in the PRO as Montenegro managed to stay equidistant in the fighting between Lareta and Bulrich. In a similar move, the decision of the former security minister of CABA could be decisive. To this should be added that it represents the fourth most populous municipality in the province, behind only La Matanza, La Plata and Lomas de Zamora.
For this reason, Mar del Plata is one of the few exceptions where two yellow presidential candidates are willing to share a candidate for mayor. In the rest of the municipalities, internal competition in all bodies of the electoral ballot is practically inaccessible: each presidential candidate will carry his own candidates for governor, legislators and mayor.
If there is no agreement in the coming days, that will be the plan that PRO will replicate in 133 of the 135 Buenos Aires municipalities. One of the exceptions may be Mar del Plata. The other case, for various political reasons, is that of Vicente López.
During his visit to “La Feliz”, the head of government was accompanied by MartÃn Redrado, the city’s secretary of strategic affairs and one of Laretismo’s economic advisers. He is a political figure whose campaign tours for RodrÃguez Lareta have contributed to his visibility and public trajectory. During lunch at the port, Lareta tells Montenegro that he is ready to accept the “V” plan, which would mean approving him and Bulrich’s mayoral candidate. In return he asked them to take care of the presidential ticket and maintain political balance.
“I’m going to accept the decision you’ve made,” Laretta assured the local mayor. Between sol and grilled brotola, accompanied by potatoes and vegetables, the two discussed the political strategy of the PRO and JXC in the province. It was a topic that occupied a good portion of the meal. Other diners who stood at the luncheon were Redrado and Alejandro Rabinovich, a senator from Buenos Aires and leader of the fifth electoral block.
In any case, there is something that concerns the references to the PRO: Montenegro has not yet defined whether it will run for re-election. In JvC they believe that if this happens, the chances of winning are solid. In contrast, Peronism has the swords of Mar del Plata Fernanda Ravarta, head of ANSES and leader close to La Campora, and Gustavo Pulti, former local mayor and man of good political relations with Daniele Scioli.
The communal leader will wait for the definition of prisoner at the national level to decide his political future. The leader of Mar del Plata also has an excellent connection with Bularchism. For the time being, he will try to maintain a balance between the two PRO presidential candidates.
Vicente López is the second municipality where there is an agreement between Bullrichism and Laretismo to bring a candidate for mayor of Unity. Both regions will support Jorge Macrista Soledad MartÃnez, who will try to maintain the PRO’s key stronghold in the first electoral block.
Jorge Macri, the political head of that municipality in the northern region, would be the sole candidate for head of the Buenos Aires government of PRO. Which is to say, he would not place himself on the side of either Laretta or Bulrich. To accomplish this, the same scheme would be maintained in Vicente López, with MartÃnez as a unit candidate.
