The Argentine Agustín Canapino became one of the protagonists of the race with Dallara-Chevrolet, finishing fourteenth this afternoon in the Monterey Grand Prix, the last test of IndyCar motorsport, held at the Laguna Seca circuit in California.

The Argentine completed his work with a total of 95 laps on 1 m. 01s. 843/1000 from the winner, New Zealander Scott Dixon (Dallara Honda).
Canapino started the competition in 19th place and jumped to 10th after a series of mishaps on the first lap that resulted in the loss of six cars, including Britain’s Callum Illot, the Reef native’s teammate.
The victory went to Dixon, who led by 7 seconds. 318/1000 for his compatriot Scott McLaughlin (Dallara-Chevrolet), while champion Palou (Dallara-Honda) came third, 10 seconds behind. 611/1000.
Australian Will Power (Dallara Chevrolet) came in fourth, 14 seconds behind. 666/1000; The British Illot (Dallara-Chevrolet) was fifth with 21 seconds. 128/1000 and the Dane Christian Lundgaard (Dallara-Honda) was sixth with 21 seconds. 375/1000.
Reef’s Canapino placed 22nd. Placement in the tournament with 180 points, making him the second best debutant of the season, behind American Marcus Armstrong with 214.
