Rajnath Singh on Agnipath Scheme: Another controversy has arisen regarding the recently announced Agneepath scheme by the Modi government at the Centre. Opposition parties have alleged that caste and religion certificates are being sought for defense recruitment services. Meanwhile, the central government has responded to the allegations of the opposition. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has termed it a complete rumour, on the allegations of the opposition asking for caste and religion certificates for the Agnipath scheme. He has claimed that no changes have been made in this.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that this is a complete rumour. He said that the old system is being continued. No change has been made in the old system which was running before independence.
What did the government say when the caste certificate was asked?
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh made it clear that the old system in army recruitment continues. At the same time, before this, the Indian Army officer clarified the question of asking for caste and religion certificates for recruitment in the army. Military officials say that there was no significant change in the military recruitment process under the Agneepath scheme. He said, certificates like caste or religion are always sought in the army during recruitment. There is nothing new in it.
For the first time in the history of India, caste is being asked in army recruitment. This claim has also been described as fake in the PIB Fact Check. Sharing Sanjay Singh’s tweet, PIB Fact Check states that there is already a provision to show caste certificate for army recruitment.

What was the allegation made by Sanjay Singh?
Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh wrote on Twitter on Tuesday, ‘The ugly face of the Modi government has come in front of the country. Does Modi ji not consider dalits/backward/tribals eligible for army recruitment? For the first time in the history of India, caste is being asked in ‘Army Recruitment’. Modi ji do you want to make ‘Agnivar’ or ‘Jaativar'”.
BJP surrounded the opposition
BJP leader Sambit Patra accused the opposition of doing politics. He said that the language used by Aam Aadmi Party’s Sanjay Singh by tweeting about caste and religion in Agniveer is disturbing. He said that it is very sad that these people are alleging army recruitment on the basis of caste and religion. Patra claimed that they do not know the truth.
