Catalino Zavala Márquez, who serves as Secretary General of the Government of the State of Baja California, submitted his application for registration in the internal process of Morena as an applicant for a candidate for a Senate. This process aims to select candidates for the next elections for federal deputies and senators, which are scheduled to be renewed in 2024.
The registration for those who wish to hold these positions for Morena opened on November 1. Catalino Zavala Márquez formalized his registration process a day later, on Thursday, November 2. Their interest in participating in this process joined other prominent members of Morena who are also seeking the opportunity to be considered for candidacy.
Among the applicants is federal representative Julieta Ramrez, who applied the same day the registry opened. In addition to Julieta Ramírez, the municipal president of Ensenada, Armando Ayala Robles, and the former head of the Tijuana Migrant Assistance Directorate, José Luis Pérez Canchola, also requested to register the internal process of Morena, thus showing great interest in the competition for the candidates for the mentioned positions.
Catalino Zavala Márquez has a degree in Law from the Autonomous University of Baja California, with a Master’s degree in Management and Public Policy from the Ibero-American University.
He is the Councilor of the XVI City Council of Tijuana and General Secretary of the VI City Council of Playas de Rosarito.
In addition, he served as a local representative in the Congress of Baja California where he assumed the Presidency of the Board of Directors of the XXIII Legislature.
He was in charge of the Secretary of Education of Baja California, and now Secretary General of the State Government.
Registration for federal candidates begins: Morena Baja California
The leadership of Morena in Baja California reports that, electronically, there are registrations for those who wish to be a candidate for a seat in the Federal Congress or in the Senate, there are two calls that can be accessed for registration at http ://registro .morena .app.
