I was really happy to see Elizabeth Banks take over and do what she did, which was fun. There always seems to be conversations about it. I’m really excited to talk to Drew, Cameron and Lucy about this, but at the same time I’m also happy to pass the torch on for now. I mean I love Tim Burton’s Batman movies, I love the new Batman movies. It’s like there is a keeper of the torch and you can pass it on.

For her part, Barrymore stated on her talk show that she would have no hesitation in directing a new film in the saga and that if anyone decided to direct a third, she wouldn’t be surprised if her castmates would agree.
