The Municipal Health Directorate, through the Social Prevention Sub-Directorate, conducted a tour of various rural communities in Gómez Palacio and verified that the street vendors working there respect the hygiene requirements for their products and prevent the spread of gastrointestinal diseases
José Antonio Adame de León, director of the Municipal Health Service, explained that to protect the health of citizens, the surveillance work on street vendors has been intensified, which is why an operation has now been carried out in the ejidos with the aim of We make sure that those selling food on the street do so in the strictest compliance with hygiene regulations.
Adame de León pointed out that, according to the Mayor of the Municipality, Leticia Herrera Ale, these measures are being implemented to prevent citizens from endangering their health by consuming food in poor condition on the streets.
During this tour, Social Prevention operatives monitored 23 street stalls in Ejidos Venecia, Huitrón, Jiménez, Arturo Martnez, Gregorio Garca, and Estación Viedo, where no anomalies were detected but only some recommendations were made that were positively received by the vendors.
According to the head of the city’s health service, these oversights will be extended to all rural communities in the municipality.
Inspection visits include checking that street vendors wear face masks, keep their place clean, are clean, which includes having short fingernails, have a dustbin with a lid, and use plastic bags or gloves when handling money.
