Chico High Tennis reaches the section finals at number 1 | Local roundup

The Chico High School women’s tennis team beat Pleasant Valley 9-0 on Tuesday in the Semifinals of the Northern Section at Chico High School.

In singles, Paige Sittangung, Sidney Vaughn, Skylar Granlund, Julia McGarva, Aubrey Leyland and Kaley Morehead have won their matches in sets in a row.

In the doubles teams Claire Schaefer and Addison Fawks, Alexa Agnew and Erica Matson, Kylie Leth and Taylor Seidenstreaker won straight sets.

The Panthers will now play Shasta in the Northern Section Finals on October 27 in Chico. Chico High is one of the # 1 seeds.

Preparatory field hockey

Pleasant Valley 2, Red Bluff 0: Riley Kucic scored twice for the video in the Vikings regular season finale. Kucic scored one goal in the second quarter and one in the fourth. Brooklyn Longueira assisted Kucic on both goals.

PV goalkeeper Savannah Cresswell did not record a single lockout save for the Vikings.

PV (12-4, 12-2 Eastern Athletic League) will play next in the EAL / Sac Joaquin super-regional tournament on October 30th on PV.

Preparatory volleyball

Pleasant Valley 3, Shasta 0: Pleasant Valley won the away 25-18, 25-12, 27-25 on Tuesday.

Emma Dougherty led PV in kills with eight, while Delaney Tau and Allie Mimbs each had seven kills. Mimbs and Brisa Reyes each had three aces. Tau and Kenna Chapin led the PV in excavations 15 each, Mimbs 12, and Dougherty and Kendal Tau 10 each. Mimbs helped organize the attack on PV with 12 assists as a team.

PV (18-14, 7-2 EAL) will play the next match at 18:00 on Wednesday at home against Cosumnes Oaks, followed by Vikings against Enterprise at 18:00 on Thursday at home.

College men’s golf

State Chico at the Otter Invitational: State Chico finished tied for Monterey Bay, California and finished third in the final Wildcats of the Fall season on Monday and Tuesday in Primorye. After three rounds, the Wildcats finished the team 29x 893.

Cal State San Bernardino finished first on the team at 25+ 889.

Christopher Colla finished second on the individual leaderboard with 1 over 217. Colla finished four shots behind Matthew Pennington of San Marcos California State. Chico State player Tyler Ashman finished eighth with 6 par 222, while Mike Stevens finished 15 par 231.

The next Chico State competition will take place on February 14, 2022 at the Cal State Sam Marcos Fujikura Invitational at Shadowridge Golf Club in Vista.
