The Kansas City Chiefs continue to host players on top-30 tours ahead of the 2022 NFL draft.
The latest news comes from Justin Melo, our friend at The Draft Network, who says Washington State CB Jaylen Watson has an upcoming top-30 tour with Kansas City. Watson has also met virtually with the New York Jets, New Orleans Saints, Miami Dolphins and Las Vegas Raiders per Mello.
Transferring from Ventura College, Watson played only two seasons for Washington State. As a senior with the Cougars in 2021, Watson made a total of 31 tackles, one tackle for a loss, two interceptions, three passes defended and four fumble recoveries in the 12 games played.

There’s a lot of interest in the 6-3, 204-pound CB who ran 4.47 in his pro day and jumped 38 inches vertically.

Listed at a hair 6-3 and under 204 pounds, Watson is a press coverage corner who will be in need of Chiefs following Charvarius Ward’s departure in free agency. He fits the team’s arm length threshold, which is important because there are a lot of cornerbacks who aren’t there this year.
Watson put together a solid pre-draft cycle, participating in both the Senior Bowl and the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine. He ran 4.51s 40-yard dash at the Combine, but in his pro day he improved to 4.47. He also did 18 repetitions of 225 in the combine. In his pro day, he wowed scouts with a 38-inch vertical jump.
