The Food for Life ministry served 448 families with turkey and other Thanksgiving-related meals in its annual Saturday-before-Thanksgiving meal delivery.
The November 20 event marks the 12th year a Chino-based non-profit organization has organized the Thanksgiving Food Giveaway.
“What a pleasure to see so many smiles on so many faces,” Cindy Vande Steig, the group’s secretary and co-founder, said in a news release. “It’s great to see such a large number of volunteers from local churches along with people in need of food.”
In addition to special events such as Thanksgiving food distribution, the Ministry of Food for Life distributes meals to approximately 200 families a week from its 4712 Cheyenne Way, Chino’s warehouse. Distribution runs from 4–6 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays and 9 a.m.–noon on Saturdays, when the organization’s distribution is not scheduled elsewhere.
Families can get a meal once a week from Food for Life’s warehouse. A form of identification is required.
Food for Life also works with churches and other partners in Chino, Chino Hills, Ontario, Pomona and occasionally other areas.
Volunteers and donations of food and money are always welcome.
