After the separation of Cristián ‘Chicote’ Calderón and Alexis Vega from the rojiblanco team after indiscipline, the Guadalajara board faced a difficult situation to resolve. If the players are not excused and they return to their jobs as players, the option to terminate their contract is on the table for Fernando Hierro and Amaury Vergara.
According to information from David Medrano of Récord, the termination of the contracts of the two players could cost Rebaño a large sum of approximately 40 million pesos. In this case, FIFA established that the club must pay the rest of the agreed contract, therefore the high cost that will weigh on Guadalajara.
As a result, the club and its board are analyzing existing alternatives. Both players have little time left at the club: Alexis Vega has eight months left on his contract, while ‘Chicote’ Calderón has three months left. Thinking about the assets that Guadalajara will lose, according to the Transfermarkt portal, Alexis Vega has a current value of 7 million euros and ‘Chicote’ Calderón is valued at 2 million euros.
Another option that the Guadalajara team can explore is to reach a compensation agreement with the players to avoid the payment established by FIFA and that the amount is lower due to the separation.
