Chris Cuomo played a huge role in the ex-governor. Cuomo’s defense

In a statement released Monday, former governor’s spokesman Richard Azzopardi accused Ms. James, who is now running for governor, of acting out of political malice towards Mr. Cuomo – a position he and the former governor’s lawyers have taken. has been conducted several times in the months since the report was published in an attempt to refute its findings.

“It is no surprise to anyone that Tish James continues to abuse his power to exploit his political future – prosecutorial misconduct, ethics and honesty be damned,” said Mr Azzopardi. “Today’s manipulated release of carefully selected testimony with selective editions is typical.”

Recently released tapes included copies of text messages and emails, as well as transcripts of testimonies from many of Mr. Cuomo’s closest associates, including Ms. DeRosa, as well as current and former legal advisers such as Stephen M. Cohen, Alfonso David and Jill. DesRosiers.

Replete with tales of screaming matches, curses and deep mistrust, they collectively paint a portrait of the toxic work culture that many of those who testified in front of the Attorney General’s team have tried to undermine, fighting to keep their boss’s job and their own.

“I don’t trust anyone,” Ms DeRosa told many of her closest confidants during a text messaging session, explaining why she – and not an assistant – shared the call details for the strategic call. In another report released by investigators, Ms. DeRosa describes how she scolded two people, including one nicknamed “Sponge,” who was among Mr. Cuomo’s accusers.

“I’m in a good mood,” she said, adding, “In my defense, everything sucks.”

In one case, investigators asked Mr Azzopardi to say if the governor had ever pelted him with apricots in a fit of rage. He argued that the story, which was told in the testimony of another unnamed employee, was false.

“Are you serious?” – said Mr. Azzopardi. But he also testified: “He shouted at me. I yelled back at him, but that was okay. “
