If you’re looking for something to celebrate this weekend, join Ciara and bow to the later.
The singer and new Denverite returned with new music on Friday and her single, titled “JUMP,” is a bouncy butt blast with enough hustle and bustle to get you through football season. (Ciara, wife of quarterback Russell Wilson, literally opens the video in a blue and orange cheerleading uniform, so we can only assume it’s a reference to the Denver Broncos.)
“This moment is special for so many reasons… just considering the moment where we’ve all been in this world, this moment of creativity for me,” Ciara said ahead of the live premiere of the music video on YouTube Friday morning. “I just want to make this world dance. That’s really important to me, that’s really my goal – to make the world dance and have the best time possible listening to this song.”
Ciara said this is the biggest work she’s ever put into a video, and it shows. She jumps between scenes and outfits at lightning speed, wearing no less than 14 different looks, some of which hark back to other female artists like Janet Jackson. The whole thing happened in just four days, she said.
“I literally drove my glam team crazy…but it was a dream come true for our entire creative team,” said Ciara.
Ciara set social media on fire when she initially teased the song with a video in which she and some of her dancers danced atop a Ford Bronco at a gas station. It wasn’t so much the dancing that caught people’s attention as the prices – $6.69 for lead free?! – listed in the background.

Ciara called dance the universal language and, girl, today we are talking. Do that rump jump!
