The representatives of the 12 Afro-Mexican micro-regions of Veracruz expressed their support in favor of the former Secretary of the Government, Eric Cisneros Burgos, as the winner of the MORENA survey to determine their candidate for governor.
In the voice of Luis Antonio RodrÃguez Pulido, they assured that the people of Veracruz have already decided who is the right person to manage the change of the entity.
“The survey is the ideal mechanism for the sovereign people to decide who should represent them. There is no doubt about the numbers, because the difference between the first and second place is 2 to one, in our yet, more than 30 points for leader Eric Cisneros Burgos and less than 20 for his closest competitor,” he said.
Likewise, they call on President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the national coordinator Claudia Sheinbaum and the Afro-Mexican National Movement to abandon racism, not fall into the impositions and respect the popular will.
“Eric Cisneros is one of us, in himself the Afro-Veracruz communities feel fully represented because he is involved in a long history of service. He is a universal Afro descent, a man with a bow -look to the future and continue a daily struggle against exclusion, classism, corruption and racism.
For his part, Arturo Aguilera Lira, also a representative, stated that this racism now has the temptation to “take” the victory from Cisneros Burgos and take away their hope and warned that they will not allow the abuse.
“We will not allow this because of the 9 governorships that will compete in 2024, Veracruz needs the Afro-Mexican quota equal to ours in the elections and many are hidden from us, even with deceptions and usurpations,” he accused.
Finally, he repeated his call to President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to prevent the right to cleanly obtained by the Veracruz candidate from being taken.
“Regardless of all the above, Eric Cisneros Burgos won the poll with a very large margin. It should be enough, Mr. President of the Republic, not to take away the right of those who have earned it fairly,” he concluded.
It should be noted that MORENA will announce the winner of the Veracruz survey, as well as the winner of the other 8 states, on November 10.
