The Platform for Dignified Retirement and Full Salary Equalization, made up of thirteen organizations of civil guards and national police, requested this Monday that they be immediately recognized as members of a dangerous profession and that the province of Cádiz be declared a place of special singularity.
They requested this in a statement released in response to the death of two civil guards when they were passed on Friday by a drug boat in Barbate (Cádiz).
“The tragic events of the night of February 9 in the port of Barbate, which ended with the killing of two of our men and two other injured colleagues, should be a change in the development not only of the Special that Security Plan for Campo. de Gibraltar but also and above all for the performance of our function, “the platform says.
The platform added that for this reason it requested a meeting for next Friday with the subdelegate of the Government of Cádiz. On the same day, he called for rallies in front of the delegations and sub-delegations of the Government throughout Spain to begin with a minute of silence as a sign of mourning for the dead civil guards.
Remember that from the first day of its constitution it was requested that the Ministry of the Interior recognize it as a dangerous profession for the Civil Guard and National Police and the declaration of an area of special uniqueness for the province of Cádiz.
“We need more and better ways to deal with the scourge of drug trafficking in the Strait area and if the situation of public servants in that region does not improve, it will be very difficult for them to want to stay there and the criminal groups end. win the war,” warned.
In any case, he assured that “civil guards and police will continue their fight against traffickers but the protection of members of the police force must be guaranteed.”
